Job Overview:

Location: Hybrid position with on-site requirements.

Systems Technology & Research, Inc. is on the lookout for a Model Based Systems Engineer specializing in Embedded Systems to contribute to innovative projects supporting military ground vehicle systems. This role involves collaborating with government entities to enhance both manned and unmanned vehicle technologies, including robotics and vehicle electronics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize engineering expertise in multidisciplinary research initiatives for ground combat vehicles, focusing on embedded systems development, computer vision, machine learning, and autonomous navigation.
  • Engage directly with clients, fostering strong relationships and effectively communicating technical concepts.
  • Demonstrate experience in the development of embedded systems, employing various engineering methodologies and lifecycle processes to create vehicle system architectures.
  • Lead projects or components, translating complex platform requirements into structured engineering tasks across diverse disciplines.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering or scientific field, accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering methodologies, including SysML, DoDAF, and UPDM.
  • Experience with military electronic systems, including subsystem and system-level testing and integration.
  • Familiarity with Deterministic and Non-Deterministic Data Bus Architectures, such as CAN Bus and Ethernet.
  • Capability to perform Functional Decomposition and Capability Development for new architecture design.
  • Experience in developing data networks that comply with various information security levels.
  • Ability to create and implement system-level project plans.
  • Proficient in tools such as MagicDraw and Cameo, as well as requirements management software like IBM Rational Doors.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in process development and improvement management (CMMI).
  • Knowledge of legacy military hardware and software systems.
  • Understanding of Time Sensitive Networking.
