Contract Duration: 12 Months

Location: Remote/On-site as required

Shift Flexibility:

Initially on day shift, with potential for shift changes as necessary

Shift Details:

Day Shift: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Evening Shift: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

Night Shift: 11:00 pm to 7:30 am

Role Summary:

The Senior Automation Engineer is tasked with overseeing the execution of programs related to machine automation and robotics. This role requires a high degree of creativity, initiative, and independent judgment within a centralized engineering environment or manufacturing setting.


Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and execute new programs (including SOR preparation, forecasting, and design of controls/robotics)
- Oversee the design, construction, integration, and installation of equipment necessary for high-quality production
- Ensure timely delivery in accordance with program milestones
- Present project updates to senior management
- Provide support for existing programs, including troubleshooting
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders
- Mentor junior controls engineers
- Design and troubleshoot electrical control systems
- Engage in the development and testing of advanced process technologies
- Travel as necessary.


Essential Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in automation or robotics engineering
- Strong technical expertise in electrical/control systems applicable to manufacturing
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles related to machine design and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, as well as Ethernet and/or Devicenet networks
- Knowledge of servo motors, motion control, and drives
- Experience with Fanuc robots setup and programming
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to design and troubleshoot electrical control systems
- Proven project management capabilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.


Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with plant floor operations
- General knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Understanding of GMS and operational frameworks
- Previous experience in automotive controls engineering
- Knowledge of global controls architecture.


Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience/training.
