Job Description

Job Summary:

The Minute Man Arc for Human Services Inc is seeking a skilled Developmental Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with therapists, case managers, medical professionals, and direct care staff to support the goals and aspirations of individuals with developmental and other disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct functional and therapeutic groups, activities, and classes focused on skill acquisition, physical therapy, motor skills, social skills, and overall quality of life.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans that promote the growth and development of individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including feeding, non-verbal communication, hand-on caregiving, toileting, and assisting with toileting.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of individual progress and provide regular updates to the team.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as caregiving, toileting, and behavior management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working or volunteering with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Valid drivers' license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen.
  • Ability to drive 16-passenger vans daily.
  • Acceptable background check, including criminal history background check.
