Automation Engineer

Weidmann Electrical Technology is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to improve our manufacturing processes and computer systems. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and implement automation solutions to enhance our facility's safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including ISO 9000, 14001, 18001, OSHA, and EPA.
  • Develop and implement automation systems to meet production challenges, ensuring reliability and safety.
  • Identify and prioritize manufacturing process improvements, managing projects and monitoring progress.
  • Create product justification documents using quality data, time studies, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Foster cooperation within teams, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement cost reductions.
  • Communicate and train employees on procedures, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
Requirements:
  • Degree in electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of manufacturing or automation experience, with a preference for robotics, AI, and machine learning.
  • Experience in project management, CAD drafting (AutoCAD preferred), and using MS Project, SharePoint, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex tests.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma and other analytical tools.
  • Creative, collaborative, and able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
