Senior Systems Test Engineer

Curtiss-Wright's PacStar division is on the lookout for a seasoned engineer who possesses a comprehensive knowledge of x86 server architecture and hardware. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in testing, qualification, and benchmarking of CPU, GPU, and storage solutions across various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and VMware ESXi. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional product engineering teams to provide data center-level capabilities to our clientele, where size, weight, power (SWAP), and reliability in challenging environments are critical.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to design and implement test plans aimed at assessing system performance, validating design specifications, and supporting the qualification of integrated solutions.

+ Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in edge computing, GPU, and storage while representing PacStar in discussions with customers and partners.

+ Clearly articulate complex technological concepts to diverse audiences.

+ Work closely with technical teams from third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.

+ Oversee the development of technology demonstrations, ensuring adherence to timelines and providing regular updates to cross-functional teams and management.

+ Conduct demonstrations at industry events, customer engagements, and online platforms.

+ Facilitate the transition of technology into production, contributing to test protocols, user documentation, and marketing resources.

+ Independently manage project timelines, proactively identifying obstacles or resource needs to ensure successful outcomes.

+ Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

+ A minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, IT, or QA/Validation.

+ At least 5 years of experience in the following technology domains:

+ Troubleshooting Intel x86-based hardware systems throughout their lifecycle.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.

+ Experience with Linux operating systems.

+ At least 3 years of experience in:

+ Developing and executing test cases.

+ Conducting performance, validation, and qualification testing for both new and existing products.

+ Desired experience includes:

+ Virtualization, Storage, Network, and Systems Integration.

+ VMware, particularly with ESXi/vSphere.

+ Networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls; Cisco preferred).

+ Hyperconverged infrastructure.

+ Automation solutions such as Ansible.

+ Implementation of new systems using standardized processes.

+ Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) experience.

+ Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or PowerCLI.

+ Industry-recognized certifications are highly desirable, including:

+ VMware VCP.

+ Cisco CCNA.

+ Microsoft MCSE.

+ CompTIA A+, Network+, Security +.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

+ A commitment to quality and attention to detail.

+ Self-motivated professional capable of managing tasks with minimal supervision.

+ Physical capability to lift and transport test equipment as required.
