The designated sales region encompasses Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, with an ideal home base in the Chicago area or Iowa.

This role is pivotal and highly visible, aimed at expanding our aftermarket products and services. We are looking for an individual with a dynamic and proactive approach to join our sales team, primarily focused on the Midwest region.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to contribute significantly to the future growth of Cook Compression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new business opportunities, deepen existing client relationships, and drive profitable sales growth within the assigned region.
  • Gather customer, market, and competitor insights throughout the sales process to enhance channel effectiveness.
  • Identify and evaluate target growth segments, understanding their size, key market drivers, and competitive landscape.
  • Focus on cultivating robust customer relationships within the aftermarket for reciprocating compressors in the oil and gas sector, particularly in mid-stream and refinery/chemical plants.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and visible sales pipeline to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Lead the sales process from initial discovery through to order placement and project initiation, ensuring customer commitments are met during order execution.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers to expedite the purchasing process.
  • Develop and monitor detailed multi-year sales forecasts, communicating effectively with finance and management teams.
  • Foster close collaboration with customer service, service repair, engineering, and production departments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sales processes.
  • Assist finance in resolving any outstanding payment issues and manage conflict resolution as necessary.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven sales success in building relationships and expanding a territory within related industries such as manufactured components, oil and gas, or industrial sales.
  • Strong negotiation skills and analytical capabilities.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A self-motivated, results-oriented mindset with a sense of urgency to support the customer base.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to develop solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to engage with customers at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the territory, with occasional overnight stays.
Preferred Qualifications

It is advantageous if candidates have:

  • An associate or bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Engineering.
  • Established relationships with current customers in refineries or chemical plants.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to rotating equipment such as compressors or pumps.
