POSITION SUMMARY:
The Revenue Cycle Education Specialist role is integral to Centerprise's commitment to enhancing the onboarding and proficiency of revenue cycle personnel. This position aims to elevate employees' skills in EPM/EHR/EDR, thereby improving their performance, productivity, and overall quality of work. The specialist will oversee the workflows within the Revenue Cycle and implement comprehensive training programs for all staff, which includes new hire orientation and ongoing training for existing employees, along with establishing a schedule for annual and periodic training sessions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement a thorough revenue cycle training and assessment process for all billing personnel to ensure ongoing improvement and adaptive training programs, while conducting effective orientation sessions.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Act as the primary contact for all inquiries and requests related to revenue cycle training.
- Facilitate training sessions.
- Create and prepare educational resources and materials.
- Conduct onboarding and training for new employees.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure all necessary computer systems and access are prepared for new hires.
- Perform routine Quality Reviews of all team members.
- Conduct needs assessments based on Quality Reviews to identify skills or knowledge gaps that require attention.
- Assist in the formulation of Centerprise RCM policies and procedures.
- Manage and update organizational policies and procedures, including annual reviews and necessary revisions.
- Maintain and nurture strong client relationships.
- Work closely with Data Analysts to ensure the accuracy of data required for reporting, and assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports.
- Support the development of presentations, educational materials, and client deliverables.
- Identify and explore new ideas or opportunities that may benefit clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To be successful in this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty competently. The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the healthcare sector – FQHC preferred, but non-FQHC experience will be considered; comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of revenue cycle, including registration, billing, charge capture, AR management, information systems, and compliance with State and Federal billing regulations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree or 3-5 years of equivalent leadership experience.
Required Skills: Strong customer service abilities; thorough understanding of federal, state, and HIPAA privacy regulations; familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding protocols and procedures; capability to handle confidential information professionally; ability to effectively influence change; establish productive working relationships with leadership team members and key executives at HealthSource and Centerprise. Experience with various Electronic Medical Records and training or educational skills is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
