Building Automation Field Specialist

Position Overview:

As a vital member of our team, the Field Engineer will play a key role in the implementation and optimization of advanced building automation systems tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who is dedicated to customer satisfaction and capable of tackling complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, install, and troubleshoot customer systems utilizing cutting-edge Direct Digital Control technology.
  • Act as the primary local contact for technical inquiries and lead field operations.
  • Provide effective solutions for intricate system challenges.
  • Deliver comprehensive project execution on small to medium-scale projects.
  • Ensure the proper functionality of systems, including controls, sensors, and software.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and generate reports.
  • Implement effective time management strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate project status and details clearly to clients.
  • Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on the complete system.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment exceeding 8 feet and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license with insurability by company standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel approximately 35% of the time.
  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or technical/business school certification in HVAC, Controls, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installation of complex building automation controls.
  • Basic understanding of various building automation systems and advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
  • Proficiency in using an electrical multi-meter and understanding common HVAC systems such as RTUs, air handlers, VAV boxes, chillers, and boilers.
  • Ability to interpret HVAC mechanical prints and commission common HVAC control devices like sensors, valves, and relays.
