Building Automation Field Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Field Engineer at Carrier, you will play a vital role in the deployment and optimization of building automation systems tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong customer service focus.

Your responsibilities will include addressing complex technical challenges and mentoring junior Field Engineers, ensuring the successful implementation of our innovative solutions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize advanced Direct Digital Control systems.
  • Act as the primary local contact for technical inquiries and lead field operations.
  • Provide effective solutions for complex system challenges.
  • Deliver comprehensive project management for small to medium-sized projects.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of systems, including controls, sensors, and software.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports to meet customer specifications.
  • Implement time management strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate project status and details clearly to clients.
  • Deliver site-specific training to system operators and owners.

Qualifications:

Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
Ability to climb ladders or operate lift equipment exceeding 8 feet and lift items up to 50 lbs.
Valid Driver's License with insurability under company policy.

Preferred:
Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time.
Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or Technical/Business School Certificate in HVAC, Controls, or a related discipline.
Experience with building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and familiarity with complex building automation controls.
Basic understanding of various building automation systems and advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
Proficiency in using an electrical multi-meter and a solid grasp of common HVAC systems.
