Job Overview

Position Title:
Territory Manager


Key Responsibilities:
The Territory Manager plays a crucial role in driving sales of product lines at the retail level. This position encompasses a variety of tasks aimed at building and maintaining relationships with retail partners.

Core Duties include:

  • Meeting and exceeding territory revenue targets as established by the company and/or Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
  • Operating during standard business hours, typically from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend commitments.
  • Fulfilling minimum performance standards, which include attending 8 in-person sales meetings weekly, placing 10 orders with distinct retailers each week, and acquiring new accounts in line with set objectives.
  • Selling the complete product range, with distinct revenue targets for both Willow Tree and Portfolio lines.
  • Conducting account planning and sales forecasting within the assigned territory.
  • Maintaining effective communication with customers, RSM, and internal teams regarding sales and marketing matters in a timely manner.
  • Providing weekly written reports to the RSM detailing successes, challenges, and opportunities within the territory.
  • Making fair and equitable decisions regarding account management and distribution.
  • Systematically covering the entire assigned territory by visiting retailers across all areas.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in utilizing technology tools such as Sales Force Automation Systems, EMUN, Concur, Web-Based Data Presentation Systems, Customer POS Systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Participating in relevant trade shows and national meetings as directed by the RSM or Director of Sales.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are essential for success in this role:
  • Proven experience in outside sales, preferably within the Gift Industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the sales process, including needs assessment, account qualification, and creative solution development.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to specific sales methodologies.
  • Experience working with independent retailers and regional key accounts.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Capacity to learn and effectively use additional technology tools.
  • A self-motivated individual with a strong desire for success.
