Construction Equipment Operator

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary objective of this role is to manage and operate heavy machinery essential for various construction tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates a range of heavy machinery, including but not limited to backhoes and excavators.
- Conducts maintenance activities such as landscaping, asphalt laying, and concrete pouring.
- Addresses and resolves customer inquiries and complaints.
- Performs additional related duties as necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with three (3) years of relevant experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements:
Must hold and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
Skills and Abilities:
- Competence in compiling, assembling, and transcribing data according to established guidelines.
- Ability to communicate effectively to clarify details within established policies and procedures.
- Proficient in operating and controlling heavy machinery and tools necessary for job functions.
- Capable of utilizing various reference materials and data.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Able to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions with some degree of independent judgment.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and creativity in handling a variety of routine tasks that may change frequently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position involves heavy physical activity, requiring the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Hearing: Ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Mental Acuity: Capacity to make rational decisions through logical reasoning.
- Repetitive Motion: Frequent substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Speaking: Ability to express ideas clearly and convey detailed instructions to coworkers.
- Visual Acuity: Close visual ability to perform tasks such as data analysis and extensive reading.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including dust, noise, and hazardous materials.
