Job Overview

Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Reports to: Plant Manager

Scope of Work:

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring that all machinery and facilities operate efficiently and effectively.

This position requires the individual to stay updated on all preventive maintenance protocols, manage spare parts inventory, conduct necessary repairs, and collaborate with equipment service representatives as needed.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct repairs on all machinery to meet performance standards.
  2. Ensure all equipment remains in optimal working condition.
  3. Engage with service representatives from equipment suppliers as necessary.
  4. Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors when required.
  5. Document preventive maintenance schedules and work orders accurately.
  6. Maintain spare parts inventory at appropriate levels.
  7. Keep equipment manuals organized, current, and accessible.
  8. Report equipment with a history of poor performance to the Plant Manager.
  9. Maintain a safe and functional facility.
  10. Be available on-call 24/7 to address significant equipment failures.
  11. Communicate any safety and sanitation concerns to the Plant Manager.
  12. Review maintenance requests with the Plant Manager.
  13. Ensure the maintenance area is clean, organized, and sanitary.
  14. Train employees on proper equipment handling procedures.
  15. Arrive at work punctually in a clean and complete uniform, promoting good personal hygiene.
  16. Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures consistently.
  17. Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.

Qualifications:

Strong skills in mechanical, electrical, and PLC equipment repair are essential. Knowledge of building codes and OSHA regulations is required, along with general facility maintenance skills. Good interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities are also important.
