Department Overview:

The Department of Health Policy and Management at the Milken Institute School of Public Health is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership (NCMLP) as a Center Associate. This center is dedicated to enhancing community health by integrating the healthcare, legal, and public health sectors to address social determinants of health such as inadequate housing, food insecurity, and community safety.

Position Summary:

The Center Associate role is integral to a federally funded initiative, focusing on pre- and post-award project management, data collection, analysis, and stakeholder communication. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to demonstrate strong competencies in these key areas:

  1. Project Management: Oversee project management tasks across various departments within the university.
  2. Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication with project sponsors and community partners.
  3. Data Management: Provide administrative support, including data collection and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison for project sponsors, managing all administrative aspects of partnerships.
  • Oversee the administrative processes related to sub-awards and service agreements.
  • Ensure clear communication within the NCMLP team and with external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external vendors as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing materials for meetings and participate in regular planning sessions.

Research and Content Development:

  • Support the creation and modification of project deliverables, including data analysis for performance evaluation.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding NCMLP field data and resources.
  • Assist in the administration of surveys and assessments related to training and technical assistance needs.
  • Utilize data science methodologies to enhance NCMLP's strategic initiatives.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed, ensuring flexibility in meeting the evolving needs of the center.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a BA/BS in a relevant field, with the degree conferred by the start date of employment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in project coordination or management.
  • Proficiency in collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify issues and implement solutions effectively.
  • Capacity to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Google Suite.
  • Understanding of public health and social issues.
