About the Role:
The Pension Rights Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to lead our legal program. As the Director of Legal Affairs, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our legal program, working closely with our legal program staff and consultants, and providing legal advice to our counseling project attorneys and referrals staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of our legal program, including the coordination of training conferences and the development of training materials and webinars.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to our counseling project attorneys and referrals staff, as well as to other attorneys and organizations as needed.
- Work with our staff to analyze data and identify systemic issues affecting our clients and the broader community.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote the projects and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Collaborate with our staff to develop and implement innovative solutions to challenging legal problems.
- Represent the Pension Rights Center at conferences and other events, and write articles and blog posts for our website.
Requirements:
- Must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia or eligible to join the DC Bar.
- Minimum of three years' experience as an ERISA or legal services attorney or program manager.
- Excellent written, communications, public speaking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with developing and coordinating legal trainings, conferences, and webinars.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to mission-driven public interest work and economic equity.
What We Offer:
- Salary range of $120,000 to $135,000 commensurate with experience.
