Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI) is a leading orthopedic medical practice in the Chicagoland area, offering a part-time position for a Rehabilitation Technician.

This role is ideal for individuals seeking to enhance their experience in a physical and occupational therapy environment within IBJI's Rehabilitation Services Division.

Position Summary

The Rehabilitation Technician operates under the supervision of the technician supervisor and the management team at the facility. The primary focus of this role is to assist the clinical staff in providing exceptional service and care, aimed at enhancing the overall quality of life and functionality for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain effective communication with therapy patients, therapists, and medical staff in a dynamic orthopedic rehabilitation setting.
  2. Ensure daily clinic upkeep, which includes cleaning treatment tables and equipment, changing linens, and restocking supplies.
  3. Organize exercise equipment to maintain a safe environment for patients within the clinic.
  4. Conduct regular maintenance checks to comply with IBJI standards.
  5. Support therapists by assisting with the implementation of exercise programs for patients, including setup of equipment and modalities.
  6. Report observations regarding patient progress to therapists during exercise sessions.
  7. Proactively assist clinicians with patient care tasks.
  8. Prepare home exercise programs for patients as directed by the clinician.
  9. Manage inventory of clinical and non-clinical supplies.
  10. For clinics utilizing technicians for front desk duties, adhere to best practices for clerical responsibilities, including patient check-in, appointment scheduling, and phone management.
  11. Provide consistent support to the rehabilitation staff and management team.
  12. Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  13. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with patients of all backgrounds and diagnoses.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor within the clinic.
  15. Exhibit professionalism through punctuality and flexibility with scheduled hours.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Must be at least 16 years of age.
  2. Currently enrolled in or a graduate of high school.
  3. Availability for a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive under pressure.
  2. Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
  3. Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  4. Proficient in Windows, MS Office, and email communication.
