About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Media Relations Manager to join our team at The Nature Conservancy. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective media relations strategies to promote our conservation work and raise awareness about the importance of protecting our natural resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement media relations strategies to secure media coverage and promote our conservation work
  • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, including journalists, editors, and producers
  • Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials
  • Develop and maintain a media list and track media coverage
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement communications campaigns
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience in media relations or a related field
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of conservation issues and key markets in the Southwest US
