Job Summary:

The Lansing Board of Water & Light is seeking an Instrument & Control Specialist to join their team. This role will be responsible for performing technical duties related to electrical instrumentation, control, and monitoring functions of the utility's electric, steam, water, and chilled water utilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electronics, computers, networking, and troubleshooting systems. They will be responsible for installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Distributed Control Systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems, and Human Machine Interfaces.

The Instrument & Control Specialist will also be responsible for controlling system networks, including Modbus, FieldBus, ProfiBus, 61850, HART, Ethernet IP, and support devices like switches, routers, gateways, servers, and media converters. They will also operate various pneumatic equipment, regulators, and solenoid valves.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with engineering teams to provide updated prints with project and field changes. They will also be responsible for ensuring the integrity of reporting data for engineering review and historian captures.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Distributed Control Systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems, and Human Machine Interfaces
