SEM Manager Job Description

Ruder Finn is seeking a skilled SEM Manager to lead our integrated digital marketing team. This individual should have a genuine interest in digital marketing, including strategy, platforms, and technology, with experience executing paid search campaigns to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine SEM ad campaigns across multiple platforms, including Google Ads and Bing, with tasks such as keyword research, pacing, A/B testing, and ongoing campaign optimization.
  • Create SEM copy aligned with brand messaging and best practices for optimal performance.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly SEM reporting deliverables, pulling data and synthesizing results into actionable insights.
  • Utilize SEMrush and other tools for campaign optimization and competitive insights.
General Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data and metrics for client reports, ensuring proficiency in platform-specific analytics and Google Analytics/GA4.
  • Assist in setting up accurate tagging and tracking parameters to assess media performance and attribution.
  • Participate in team meetings and client discussions, contributing data-driven ideas on strategy to support client goals.
  • Review performance in connection to client sales and conversion objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and their impact on client and assigned accounts.
  • Conduct competitive and category-specific research.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in SEM for consumer/health brands, with eCommerce and/or pharma experience a plus.
  • Must have experience with Google Ads, Bing Ads, GA4, and Google Ads Editor.
  • Bonus experience: Shopify, Magento, or other eCommerce platforms, international/multilingual search engine marketing, and Google Tag Manager.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Proactive and enthusiastic with an ability to juggle tasks for multiple client accounts and meet competing deadlines.
  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Creative in approach, but data-informed.
  • Great energy, curiosity to do and learn new things to support agency growth and offerings.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital/integrated marketing, or a related field preferred.
