The Position

The Rare Blood Therapeutics Manager (RBTM) represents Novo Nordisk, Inc. (NNI) to targeted accounts and thought leaders within a designated territory, aiming to optimize sales and position NNI as a frontrunner in the hemophilia sector. The RBTM is accountable for achieving sales targets by executing approved marketing and local sales strategies designed to effectively promote and sell NNI's hemophilia products to key healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, home care providers, social workers, pharmacies, and relevant paramedical customers involved in purchasing and prescribing decisions. This role necessitates the formulation of strategically targeted, account-specific business plans that reflect a comprehensive understanding of local, regional, and national market dynamics affecting product sales.

Relationships

Externally, the RBTM primarily cultivates relationships with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, home care providers, pharmacies, and other paramedical stakeholders.

The RBTM reports to the Regional Director - Rare Blood and collaborates internally with other representatives, medical liaisons, STARS Account Managers, and various NNI departments.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

This role requires 50-75% overnight travel; the individual must maintain a valid driver's license and be in good standing based on a review of Motor Vehicle Records.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales (experience with hemophilia/hemostasis products is preferred) or at least five (5) years of relevant experience in hemophilia, with a minimum of two (2) years in pharmaceutical sales; hemophilia experience may include care, treatment, or advocacy.
  • Expert knowledge of the hemophilia market is preferred.
  • Ability to foster trust and understanding.
  • Aptitude for learning and communicating technical and scientific product and disease management information is required.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and leadership skills are essential.
  • Intermediate computer skills are required (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Must be a self-starter capable of evaluating options, making decisions, and conducting business activities with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience with sales data and call reporting software is preferred.
