Job Summary

The Therapeutic Assistant will provide 24-hour supervision, care, and documentation of activities in the residential area. This role involves observing and documenting patient behavior, acting as a role model, interacting with patients, and providing assistance with daily living activities.

The successful candidate will uphold the mission, philosophy, and goals of Moody Neuro Rehabilitation Institute while maintaining confidentiality of personnel and patient data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe, monitor, intervene, document, and report patient behavior and functional ability.
  • Carry out therapeutic activities as designed by clinical staff and/or Case Manager.
  • Implement behavior management programs, including the levels system.
  • Assist in emergency situations, including fire drills and first aid treatment.
  • Monitor patient self-administration of medications and document on medication sheets.
  • Transport patients to and from appointments, work, and recreational activities.
  • Provide transportation, observation, and documentation of responses on ADL outings.
  • Assist therapies upon request.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records, including seizure reports and shift change reports.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer at least two years' experience in Residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Program or one-two years' experience with disabled population.
  • Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI).
  • Current/valid Driver's license.
