Job Summary

As a Medical Science Liaison for Rare Diseases, you will be an integral part of our Medical Affairs department, serving as a field-based extension of our team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide scientifically rigorous and fair-balanced information to the healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Educate healthcare professionals and managed market professionals on Kyowa Kirin's product portfolio.
  • Ensure the dissemination of transparent, fair-balanced scientific and clinical information in a timely, compliant, and customer-focused manner.
  • Function as a regional medical/scientific resource, pairing external stakeholder needs with available Kyowa Kirin resources.
  • Deliver educational resources and clinical information in response to established needs/requests.
  • Liaise with investigators to support clinical research activities.
  • Facilitate speaker development and training.
  • Engage in timely and fair-balanced scientific exchanges with HCPs in response to unsolicited requests for information.
  • Lead, contribute to, attend, and provide scientific support at medical conferences.
  • Liaise with Clinical Operations to support company-sponsored studies.
  • Actively participate in advisory boards and clinical investigator meetings.
  • Gather data to generate insights and competitive intelligence.
  • Deliver internal educational training sessions for internal stakeholders.
  • Build and cultivate working relationships cross-functionally.
  • Engage in continued independent learning within the therapeutic area.
  • Participate in PRC/MRC as needed.
  • Adhere to all company regulatory and compliance policies.
Requirements
  • Advanced clinical/science degree or health care professional credentials required (MD, PhD, RPh, PharmD, NP, PA, MS or equivalent), Doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years MSL, field-based, or clinical position preferred.
  • Therapeutic area experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and Officer of Inspector General (OIG) guidelines preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including building strong working relationships and managing and resolving conflict.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation).
  • Results-oriented.

  • Proven track record of success.
  • Current knowledge & full understanding of all relevant industry, legal, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel, both air and ground, up to 70%, including overnight travel (Including some weekends for conference coverage).
  • Must live near an airport/rail station and within the assigned region.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
