Sr Software Engineer I

External Description:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance our Jedi team, specializing in Unreal Engine 5.

Your primary responsibility will be to take charge of one or more significant gameplay systems, including mechanics for level traversal, input management, and character dynamics.

You will collaborate closely with various departments to ascertain requirements and priorities for the systems you oversee, influencing the development trajectory for essential gameplay elements.


Key Responsibilities:
System Ownership:
Design and implement sophisticated systems and tools aimed at delivering an exceptional gameplay experience for users.

Autonomy:
As a Senior Engineer, you will lead discussions regarding requirements with other teams, determine project necessities, and manage your workload with minimal supervision.

Workflow Optimization:

Assess workflows to ensure that other teams can efficiently execute their tasks and troubleshoot issues using Unreal Engine 5.


Quality Assurance:
Identify, analyze, and resolve issues as they occur.

Collaboration and Communication:
Engage with multiple departments, iterating to ensure the quality of the final product while adhering to project objectives and timelines.

Documentation and Support:
Maintain clear documentation for systems, APIs, and tools, providing comprehensive instructions and guidelines to facilitate teamwork and future enhancements. Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance as necessary.

Mentorship:
In your role as a Senior Engineer, you will be expected to mentor and develop less experienced team members in your area of expertise.

Qualifications:
Expertise:
Extensive knowledge in gameplay-related areas. Experience with third-person action games is highly advantageous.

Unreal Engine:
Familiarity with specific areas and fundamental concepts of Unreal Engine 4 or 5 is a significant asset.

Programming Skills:
Strong proficiency in C++.

Problem-Solving:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of diagnosing and resolving intricate issues.

Team Collaboration:
Outstanding communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively work with diverse teams and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Passion for Game Development:

A genuine enthusiasm for the unique fusion of science and art that is video game creation, coupled with a desire to advance the state of the art.
