Radiologic Technologist

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for taking radiographs and fluoroscopic examinations, preparing patients for imaging procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities:- Utilize markers on a consistent basis to ensure accurate patient identification and imaging.
- Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Demonstrate overall knowledge of exams and produce high-quality films on a consistent basis.
- Understand and properly use CR, the PRID, ADC Multiloader, and QS workstation to ensure efficient and accurate imaging.
- Write complete patient histories for the radiologists, utilizing PACS with few errors.
- Demonstrate overall efficiency of work and time, utilizing slow time constructively to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
- Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures, including good handwashing, to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Multitask in several areas, including stocking rooms, emptying linen, and putting away supplies.
- Acknowledge exams on a timely basis and completely, ensuring accurate and efficient imaging.
- Graduation from an approved school of Radiology Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
- American Registry of Registered Technologist (ARRT) within 3 months of graduation, new graduates need Certificate of Completion from the college.
- Certified by the State of Illinois to practice and administer radiation (IEMA). New graduates required to apply for temporary license which when received is valid by the state for two years.
- CPR - Basic Life Support.
- C-ARM and Fluoroscopy experience required.
Physical Demands: The physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors of Science degree and previous Rad Tech experience.
