Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize advanced imaging equipment to capture high-quality radiographs and fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Interface with patients and customers to ensure their imaging needs are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare and instruct patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Produce high-quality films and images, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including CR, PRID, ADC Multiloader, and QS workstation.
  • Write comprehensive patient histories for radiologists, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Utilize PACS systems to manage and retrieve images, minimizing errors and delays.
  • Demonstrate exceptional time management and multitasking skills, prioritizing tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Assess patient pain and discomfort, making appropriate physician contact for intervention when necessary.
  • Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved school of Radiology Technology, either college-affiliated or hospital-trained.
  • American Registry of Registered Technologist (ARRT) certification within 3 months of graduation.
  • Certification by the State of Illinois to practice and administer radiation (IEMA).
  • CPR - Basic Life Support certification.
  • Physical demands require lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling forces up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist or Diagnostic Imaging Specialist.
