Job Summary:


The Athletic Performance Specialist advocates for all aspects of the Performance brand through training, communication, and customer service, focusing on safety, intensity, variation, individualized, sport-specific programming, and assessment-driven training programs.


Key Responsibilities:
Provides strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs tailored to athletes and fitness enthusiasts across various ages and skill levels. Programs encompass sports performance, team training, personal, semi-private, and small group functional training.

Implements innovative training techniques, programs, and protocols.

Designs and conducts camps, clinics, and off-site training sessions.

Performs performance assessments and evaluations.

Contributes to the development and presentation of adult fitness and boot camp programs.

Assists in crafting sports and individual-specific performance programs.

Monitors workouts and client interactions using the Mind Body Online platform.

Engages in community events that promote the field of performance training and foster goodwill within the community.

Builds collaborative relationships with administration, marketing, physical therapy, and fellow coaches.

Communicates effectively with clients (athletes, coaches, parents, and team officials), ensuring timely follow-up.

Informs management of scheduling requirements and maintains professional reliability.

Creates a professional, safe, and enjoyable environment.

Ensures cleanliness and organization of the facility and equipment.

Conducts follow-up communications with potential clients.

Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field (health promotion, kinesiology, sports medicine) is preferred.

NCCA accredited personal training or strength and conditioning certification is preferred:

NSCA – CSCS (preferred)

ACSM – CPT or HFS

NASM – CPT

ACE – CPT

Strong knowledge of sports performance training, speed development, movement mechanics, assessment, evaluation, and injury prevention.

Commitment to ongoing education and enhancement of skills in the sports performance domain.

Training philosophy that emphasizes functional, scientific, and movement-oriented training.

Ability to integrate sports medicine, clinical knowledge, assessment, and/or clinical recommendations into performance training.

Self-motivated with a strong sense of integrity, possessing good business acumen, and the ability to engage with coworkers, clients, and professionals.

Must be inspiring, creative, and a collaborative team player.

Ability to foster and maintain an athletic mentality and environment.

Ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to meet goals and complete tasks within established or tight time frames.

Exhibit a fit image that reflects a commitment to a physically active and healthy lifestyle.

Background in fitness, strength and conditioning training, and/or coaching is essential.

Experience working with athletes and/or fitness clients is required.

High level of competitive athletic experience is preferred.

Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to grasp and hold up to 50 lbs.

Ability to hear and understand normal voice level communications in person or via telephone.

Ability to speak clearly and understandably.

Basic vision corrected.
