Job Summary:
The Post-Graduate Fellow for Student-Athlete Development will primarily support the Associate Athletic Director in implementing the Student-Athlete Enrichment initiative, which serves 27 teams and over 750 student-athletes. This role includes planning and executing significant departmental events, workshops, and speaker engagements, as well as assisting with committee projects and special assignments. This is a 33-week, non-benefited role requiring approximately 30 hours of work per week, including some evenings and weekends. The hourly compensation for this non-exempt position begins at $15/hr, with potential increases based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the organization and implementation of the Student-Athlete Enrichment initiative, focusing on health and wellness, professional growth, academic assistance, leadership, community involvement, and social responsibility.

• Act as a co-advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

• Provide academic coaching for student-athletes who may be at risk.

• Offer marketing and promotional support for resources and events through various platforms, including social media.

• Organize and support special departmental events such as welcome back picnics, community service initiatives, and National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

• Promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives within the campus and the Patriot League.

• Assist in planning and executing community engagement activities, fostering relationships with local partners.

• Collaborate with campus partners to develop workshops, events, and resources for student-athletes and coaches.

• Support the Bucknell Athletics Leadership Institute by identifying new program and speaker opportunities.

• Serve as a liaison to the department and on-campus resources for support services and programming.

• Engage in specialized departmental projects alongside the Associate Athletic Director.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.

• A strong interest in pursuing a career in sports management or athletic administration.

• Experience engaging with students in a collegiate athletics environment regarding leadership and welfare initiatives and academic support services.

• Proficiency in using technology for communication, data collection, and assessment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage time-sensitive projects.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of handling multiple tasks.

• Ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced, student-athlete service-oriented environment.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with engagement programming and event planning.

• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

• Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others.

• At least two years of experience or involvement in intercollegiate athletics.

• Advanced certifications or a master’s degree in a related field.

Salary Range:
The compensation will be determined based on a review of the candidate's qualifications in relation to the position's requirements, internal equity, and the overall compensation philosophy.
