Job Description

At Cogent, we are seeking a highly organized and creative Event Planning Specialist to join our team in Cambridge, MA. In this role, you will play a key part in planning and executing engaging and memorable events for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team and clients to understand event objectives, target audience, and desired outcomes.
  • Plan and manage all event logistics, including venue selection, catering, transportation, entertainment, and decor.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to client guidelines.
  • Create and maintain detailed event timelines and checklists to ensure smooth execution.
  • SOURCE AND MANAGE VENDORS, ENSURING QUALITY SERVICE AND TIMELY DELIVERY.
  • Coordinate event communication, including invitations, RSVP tracking, and on-site signage.
  • Conduct Pre-event meetings to ensure preparedness.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during events and provide timely solutions.
  • Evaluate event success and gather feedback for future improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Event Planner, with a focus on offsite events.
  • Strong understanding of event planning principles and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • Proficiency in event planning software and tools.
