Event Planning Role at MIT

We are seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's conference center. The primary focus of this role is to maintain the highest level of guest satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating information utilizing MITEH event and property management software, preparing and distributing all pertinent materials internally and externally, and providing client assistance and staff direction to ensure proper execution of meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing administrative and clerical tasks associated with meeting planning
  • Providing support to senior management
  • Attending weekly banquet event order (BEO) function review meetings
  • Staffing the guest reception desk as needed
  • Providing switchboard coverage
  • Performing concierge services and assisting guests during their stay

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of administrative or event support experience and be available to work evenings and weekends based on business needs.

This is a part-time (32 hours/week) position with the potential to become full-time.
