Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing the comprehensive month-end close process and supervising a dedicated team.
  • Conducting monthly financial forecasts and actively participating in the annual budgeting process.
  • Collaborating with corporate and property-level staff, senior management, and external vendors.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Executing the monthly close process, maintaining a detailed calendar and checklist, and reviewing financial statements.
  • Overseeing month-end consolidations and balance sheet reconciliations in line with established policies.
  • Leading the accounting department, including accounts payable, payroll, and staff accountants.
  • Providing mentorship and training to accounting team members, fostering their professional growth.
  • Engaging with department heads and executives for accurate monthly forecasting.
  • Contributing to the annual budget process and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Acting as a liaison with external auditors during annual financial audits.
  • Preparing Sales & Use Tax returns and Property Tax returns.
  • Addressing escalated accounting issues and managing various special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred).
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within the hospitality sector.
  • A solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning abilities, with effective time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software such as PeopleSoft or Blackline.
