Senior Claim Representative

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Claim Representative to join our team at The Hartford. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for managing and resolving complex claims in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, recommend, reserve, and execute file strategies to investigate, value, and settle assigned claims in accordance with corporate claim settlement policies and procedures.
  • Properly assess the exposure of assigned claims and develop advanced functional knowledge to interpret and apply insurance coverage.
  • Maintain current knowledge of claim loss cost management initiatives and utilize them appropriately and in a manner consistent with company practices and procedures.
  • Identify and properly mitigate, subrogation, and other recovery opportunities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining dedication to meeting or exceeding expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, gaining their trust and respect.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to gather information, apply sound reasoning, and draw appropriate conclusions; make sound decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
  • Effectively interpret reports with moderate complexity and contribute to loss cost management by recognizing potential for subrogation and special investigation.
  • Maintain a proactive role in Litigation Management working with council and contribute to building a high-performing team with diverse characteristics.
Requirements:
  • College degree preferred.
  • Must have 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Satisfactory completion of the candidate testing/certification process.
  • State required certification exams and adjusting licenses.
Compensation:

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency, and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.

The annualized base pay range for this role is: $61,600 - $92,400
