Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing VDI architecture strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Developing and executing VDI solutions and enhancements.
  • Participating in infrastructure planning and capacity management.
  • Managing and maintaining VDI infrastructure components, including hypervisors, virtual desktops, and associated network components.
  • Performing ongoing performance tuning and optimization of the VDI environment.
  • Managing user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access control.
  • Implementing and enforcing security policies and procedures.
  • Providing advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex VDI issues.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Monitoring VDI environment performance and resource utilization.
  • Developing and implementing capacity planning strategies to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for optimization.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of VDI infrastructure processes and procedures.
  • Providing knowledge transfer and training to L1 and L2 support teams.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience with VDI technologies, such as VMware Horizon and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
  • A strong understanding of virtualization platforms, such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and security best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Experience with cloud-based VDI solutions, such as AWS WorkSpaces and Azure Virtual Desktop.
