Job Overview:

This role involves the timely and precise delivery of goods to a designated route of clients, ensuring a courteous and professional interaction. The individual will be tasked with both driving responsibilities and the loading and unloading of trailers, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures as necessary, which may constitute up to 40% of the overall duties. The position requires maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately obtain necessary documentation and signatures upon delivery, returning all paperwork to the administrative office.
  • Inspect products during the unloading process.
  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Manage the loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing trailers.
  • Follow all safety protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Operate a lift truck while meeting quality and productivity benchmarks.
  • Complete all required paperwork thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Follow planned load reports and prepare the appropriate materials.
  • Conduct basic quality inspections of products prior to shipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and medical standards.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening as a safety-sensitive employee.
  • Proficient in operating van trailers or Conestoga flatbed trailers with high attention to detail to prevent damage to materials and equipment.
  • Ability to safely utilize power equipment while adhering to instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Understanding of basic mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Exhibit tact and diplomacy when interacting with customers to enhance the organization's reputation through excellent service.
  • Familiarity with regional routes.
  • Willingness to take responsibility for assigned tasks and be accountable for their successful completion.
  • Able to handle high-pressure situations and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of using personal protective equipment appropriately.
  • Flexible availability, including willingness to work overtime and weekends.
Minimum Requirements:

Education: Valid Class-A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial driving with a semi-tractor and flatbed trailer.

Managerial Responsibilities: None

Travel Requirements: Limited to a few hours radius.

Physical Demands:
  • Frequent climbing in and out of a truck or forklift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as provided.
  • Participation in daily stretching and flexibility exercises.
  • Capability to bend and wrap pallets.
  • Ability to move items using a pallet jack.
  • Work in a non-climate controlled environment.
