The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is essential in guaranteeing the effective and seamless functioning of the manufacturing site. This role encompasses the comprehensive maintenance strategy, which includes preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will manage a team of proficient technicians, cultivating a culture centered on safety, dependability, and ongoing enhancement. A profound knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations, equipment upkeep, and facility management is crucial for success in this position. Collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams is vital to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Strategy Development:

  • Formulate and execute thorough preventive maintenance initiatives to guarantee the reliability of equipment and systems.
  • Plan and supervise routine maintenance activities, ensuring minimal impact on production processes.
  • Work in conjunction with production and quality teams to synchronize maintenance schedules with production requirements and quality benchmarks.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Oversee, instruct, and guide a team of maintenance technicians, promoting a cooperative and high-achieving work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments, offering constructive feedback and identifying professional growth opportunities.
  • Ensure the maintenance team complies with all safety regulations and company policies, fostering a safety-first culture.

Equipment and Facility Oversight:

  • Manage the installation, repair, and upkeep of all machinery, equipment, and utility systems, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment histories.
  • Ensure the facility adheres to all regulatory standards, including GMP, OSHA, and other pertinent guidelines.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, FDA regulations, and other industry standards, maintaining the highest levels of operational integrity.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure maintenance activities do not compromise product quality or safety.

Budget Management and Inventory Control:

  • Develop and oversee the maintenance budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts and maintenance supplies, optimizing stock levels to prevent operational downtime.
  • Negotiate agreements with vendors and suppliers for equipment, parts, and services, ensuring optimal value for the organization.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reductions, implementing best practices in maintenance and reliability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology, integrating new tools and methodologies into the maintenance strategy.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement efforts, enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Essential:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CMRP, PMP) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing context.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is preferred.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of GMP and regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Working Conditions:

Environment:

  • Primarily based in a manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery and equipment.
  • May involve occasional lifting of heavy items and working in confined spaces.

Hours:

  • Full-time position with potential for overtime.
  • Availability for emergency call-outs and weekend work may be required.
