POSITION SUMMARY:

Established in 1947, Alside stands as a premier distributor of exterior building materials catering to both residential and commercial renovation and construction sectors.

The Inside Sales role is essential within our Supply Center. This position primarily focuses on delivering exceptional customer service to meet the diverse delivery and product needs of our clients. Support may be provided in person when customers visit the supply center, over the phone, or through electronic communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by addressing customer inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain an extensive understanding of product offerings.
  • Handle and resolve customer concerns and inquiries effectively.
  • Perform inside sales tasks as required.
  • Employ consultative selling techniques.
  • Establish and nurture new customer accounts.
  • Prepare quotes and process customer orders efficiently.
  • Coordinate product deliveries and communicate relevant details to customers.
  • Manage inventory replenishment orders.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a secure work environment.
  • Support the Supply Center Team in achieving the overall objectives of the business unit.
  • Ensure accurate order entry.
  • Follow directives from the Branch Manager to assist in meeting organizational goals.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and make informed decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Maintain composure under pressure.
  • Results-oriented mindset.
  • Self-driven and enthusiastic with a positive outlook.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and effective communication.
  • Physical lifting requirements based on supply center needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Combination of warehouse and office settings.
  • Work primarily occurs in an environment where forklifts are utilized.
  • Compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements is mandatory.
  • Work conditions may vary from extreme cold to extreme heat.
  • Regular use of company communication tools such as computers and phones is necessary.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Preferred college degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a retail or wholesale environment with proven success in customer interactions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Office, and Outlook.
  • General knowledge of the building industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
