Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Risk Management Consultant to join our global brokerage team at Gallagher. As a key member of our team, you will provide claims consulting services to captive clients and prospective clients, coordinating and monitoring services offered by Third-Party Administrators and Risk Control Service Providers.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing claim advice and acting as a general claim resource to captive members.
  • Actively resolving claim handling disputes between captive members and claim administrators, fostering good relationships and a quality customer service focus.
  • Reviewing, coordinating, and monitoring the overall performance of Risk Control and Claim Management service providers, ensuring adequate services and competent teams for captive needs.
  • Participating in Carrier Audits with Third-Party Administrators to verify proper claim handling practices.
  • Reviewing claim and loss control reports to determine necessary interventions.
  • Evaluating and monitoring high-exposure claims, designing efficient procedures for monitoring claims.
  • Arranging and facilitating Risk Control Workshops.
  • Developing the Risk Control Committee Agenda and working with the chairperson, claim administrator, and risk control service provider to obtain information for board books.
  • Attending Board Meetings, facilitating the Risk Control Committee Meeting, and preparing Risk Control Committee minutes.
  • Formulating a Risk Control Budget and working within budget parameters agreed upon by the Board of Directors.
  • Preparing closeout analysis.
  • Providing claim-handling procedures and guidelines to clients.
  • Participating in claim review meetings as a consultant on an as-needed basis.
  • Running financial reports from the claim administrators' system.
  • Assisting members in obtaining claim reports that meet their needs on an as-needed basis.
  • Reviewing loss reports to identify trends, reducing overall captive costs, and suggesting proactive safety procedures.
  • Developing and refining products and services, including strategies for cost control.
  • Communicating any issues to the Captive Director and advising them of the final resolution.
  • Developing reports analyzing client loss patterns by location, type, and period, identifying trends, and recommending solutions on a regular basis for all direct written accounts on a specific established time frame.
  • Performing tasks according to our processes.
  • Working on special projects and performing other tasks as assigned.
About You:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with:

  • A Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a claims role.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to compose clear, concise, and grammatically correct reports.
  • Ability to present in front of large audiences.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Self-motivation and a positive attitude.
  • Above-average telephone personality and the ability to deal with people in difficult situations.
  • Ability to travel and work more than eight-hour workdays, including weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively with all members of the captive team.
