Position Overview

The Solar Product Consultant plays a crucial role in supporting outside sales efforts to enhance sales and promote our product offerings to prospective clients. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of product features and benefits, providing expert product knowledge, and addressing customer inquiries effectively. The primary objective is to cultivate strong relationships with clients, identify their requirements, and recommend the most appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our products, including their features, advantages, and competitive positioning. Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions.
  • Actively seek and pursue sales opportunities by engaging potential clients through various communication channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face meetings. Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to illustrate the value of our offerings.
  • Support sales initiatives with key targets and customers in designated product areas or regions.
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships by delivering outstanding service and support. Understand client needs and recommend suitable products. Address inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Present proposals to various levels of leadership and technical audiences.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers.
  • Participate in product meetings, seminars, and training sessions to enhance personal and product knowledge.
  • Provide assistance to branches and clients regarding product support and training.
  • Analyze market potential, develop annual business plans based on market insights, and lead execution with local technical, sales, and management teams.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of sales experience is necessary.
  • Experience in the electrical distribution industry or a related field is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong product and application knowledge is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with outside sales staff, clients, and colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations necessary for completing assigned tasks accurately.
  • Willingness to assist others and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence decisions.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
