Compliance Manager, Benefits Fund

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Manager, Benefits Fund to join our team at SEIU. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all contributions to the defined benefit plans administered by the SEIU Benefits Funds are in compliance with contribution requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the collection, posting, and reconciliation of all employer contributions and ensure that the contributions are properly credited to employer and participants' accounts.
  • Monitor and report on delinquencies and work with Legal Counsel to resolve any issues.
  • Oversee the collection and compliance of all collective bargaining agreements and participation agreements that require contributions to the plans.
  • Handle all matters relating to withdrawal liability and monitor the preparation of pension adjustments for T-4 Forms.
  • Oversee the collection, recording, and maintenance of participant and beneficiary information.
  • Work with Fund actuaries to prepare reports for valuations and other matters.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Review Manager to oversee the tracking, posting, and collection of audit delinquencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other related field, or a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • At least six years of collections/compliance experience and four years of management experience, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of ERISA and relevant IRC sections.
  • Knowledge of multi-employer pension plans.
  • Ability to analyze reports and implement positive change.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to produce work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible attitude and approach toward assignments while actively participating and supporting a team environment.
  • Advanced skills in the use of databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions

The work is generally performed in an office setting, but may require travel to other settings conducive to performing the tasks required to complete assignments. The employee may be required to work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy.
