Mechanical Engineering Team

The mechanical engineering team is a close-knit group of highly skilled professionals engaged in the design, testing, and operation of advanced mechanical systems. We take pride in our comprehensive approach to hardware development, overseeing projects from initial concept through to testing and integration. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our engineering practices and ensuring the quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, construct, test, and operate a range of actuators, mechanisms, and structural enhancements for remote piloted aircraft.
  • Take full ownership of your hardware projects from inception to flight testing, ensuring thorough hands-on involvement throughout.
  • Lead interdisciplinary discussions and drive critical performance and design decisions to completion.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where learning and mentorship are encouraged.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical system development.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following areas: Design, Analysis, Manufacturing, Testing, or Certification.
  • Proven track record of successful project management.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis and mechanical system failure modes.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize mechanical designs for safety and reliability.
  • Experience with aircraft or other safety-critical mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering infrastructure such as CAD systems, configuration management, PLM, ERP, and MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability and high-volume production.
  • Willingness and capability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $157,000 to $213,000 annually, complemented by cash and stock option awards, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. At Reliable Robotics, we are committed to offering competitive and rewarding compensation based on experience, expertise, market conditions, and pay equity.

In addition to base compensation, we provide stock options, employee medical benefits, 401k contributions, and a collaborative work environment.
