Position: Senior Compensation Specialist

As a Senior Compensation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the calculation and administration of commission and incentive payments for our sales team, ensuring alignment with established commission plan guidelines. Your responsibilities will encompass providing essential support for the creation, execution, communication, and management of sales commission and incentive programs. You will engage in comprehensive cost analysis and modeling to enhance the design of commission and incentive plans, as well as quota levels, while collaborating across departments to address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to calculations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and input sales adjustment requests into the system of record.
  • Continuously review, update, and maintain the commission database utilized for tracking and computing variable compensation and establishing sales quotas.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews and analyses of changes to compensation plans.
  • Provide expert knowledge regarding departmental policies, processes, and systems.
  • Deliver training and guidance to other departments on the utilization of departmental systems.
  • Perform financial analyses, including performance against sales quotas, reconciliation with the general ledger, and review of gross profit at both representative and organizational levels.
  • Proactively identify and communicate opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies and boost profitability, including modeling and forecasting improvements supported by relevant metrics and data.
  • Support and execute ad-hoc research and analytical projects, encompassing project design, data collection, data modeling, analysis, and effective presentation of findings.
  • Collaborate with IT, FBA, and various management levels to gather, analyze, and summarize requested analyses, ensuring accurate implementation of process and system changes through functional validation.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Work collaboratively across functions to resolve any calculation disputes or issues.
  • Conduct cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission and incentive plan designs or quota levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • At least four years of experience in a commissions-related role.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present, persuade, and negotiate effectively.
  • Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence, with the capability to present information and respond to inquiries from sales representatives and management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development, with the flexibility to work weekends as required by workload and deadlines.
  • Adept at presenting information to management effectively.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and system information.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong business acumen across various functional areas.
  • Ambitious, adaptable, and positive; a self-starter who thrives under general supervision and adjusts well to a dynamic work environment.
