Job Overview

Position Summary

The Sales Representatives at Columbia Distributing play a pivotal role in driving and enhancing sales of our products within the market. This position involves securing new business accounts while addressing the needs of existing clients. Success in this role is achieved through strategic territory management, effective selling techniques, merchandising, and clear communication to meet company and supplier goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Achieve all sales and distribution targets by following monthly, quarterly, and annual business objectives.
  • Enhance product visibility, displays, and promotional activities for both new and existing offerings across all business channels.
  • Ensure compliance with Columbia Distributing's Store Standards in all accounts and channels.
  • Manage inventory expenses in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor and report on monthly brand goals and objectives for Red Bull.
  • Collaborate with the district manager to implement and track company and supplier goals, including volume, profit, distribution, and promotional activities.
  • Effectively promote and merchandise the Columbia Distributing portfolio in all assigned accounts.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of key decision-makers within each account.
  • Participate in all sales meetings, promotional events, and company functions.
  • Maintain a high level of industry knowledge, including trends and market share.
  • Engage in store resets, representing the company professionally.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while building strong relationships with assigned accounts.
  • Foster positive, cooperative relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Adhere to all applicable liquor laws and regulations.
  • Complete all required reporting, including preplans, trackers, surveys, and expense reports.
  • Monitor competitive activities and communicate strategic insights.
  • Conduct monthly promotions in assigned accounts as needed.
  • Ensure visibility in assigned accounts meets or exceeds that of competitors.
  • Fulfill additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Essential Competencies

  • General knowledge of industry products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers.

Work Environment

This role primarily operates within client accounts, with a mix of indoor and occasional outdoor work.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Capability to bend, stoop, crouch, squat, and use hands and wrists effectively.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to drive and operate equipment.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with varying days and hours, including potential weekend work.

Travel Requirements

Local travel is required.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of two years of previous sales experience.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the beverage industry.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation packages are tailored to each candidate based on various factors, including skills, experience, and location.

  • Employees are entitled to 80 hours of vacation annually and 7-8 paid holidays throughout the year.
