Senior Electrical Systems Engineer

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and enhancement of complex electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze control system diagrams and specifications, utilizing software and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and rectify system issues.
- Engineer new and modified systems and components, adhering to established guidelines to fulfill project objectives.
- Create and define control system applications for diverse machinery and equipment, employing technologies such as ladder logic for PLCs, HMIs, DCSs, SCADA, CNC systems, and motion control.
- Draft functional and design specifications for new or existing product features and enhancements.
- Devise solutions for intricate technical or process challenges encountered in the design, production, and upkeep of products and systems.
- Supervise and assist technicians in the assembly and troubleshooting of production systems.
- Produce and maintain schematic diagrams for electrical circuits, utilizing schematic capture software and version control systems.
- Ensure that production and product design constraints are accurately documented and updated.
- Estimate the effort required for assigned design tasks.
- Review and approve design modifications, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Assess the viability of new product developments or enhancements.
- Engage in concept and design reviews across all engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical advisory support, effectively gathering and communicating technical information.
- Collaborate with teams focused on electrical and mechanical hardware design, machine control, and compliant operating systems.
- Coordinate spare parts lists and manage parts orders for engineering projects.
- Oversee the completion of formal documentation for engineering initiatives.
- Interact with various departments to ensure alignment of projects with company objectives.
- Facilitate the training and development of staff through various training methods.
- Establish and implement departmental systems, technologies, methods, and procedures.
- Participate in the recruitment process and make hiring recommendations.
- Maintain strategic relationships with business partners, vendors, and other departments.
- Manage the workflow and scheduling of engineering staff and functions.
- Review and approve the work of junior personnel.
- Define and develop project scope, timelines, deliverables, and requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and to specified standards.
- Oversee the engineering project portfolio, reporting status to management.
- Negotiate project resources, deliverables, and costs as necessary.
- Recommend adjustments to project timelines and specifications.
- Attend industry conferences and training sessions to stay updated on new technologies.
- Analyze service use and maintenance data, conducting root cause analysis for operational issues.
- Enhance existing processes by proposing new operational procedures and technologies.
- Stay informed on technological trends, conducting research and evaluations for potential new designs or systems.
- Advise senior management on issues, solutions, and new technologies.
- Gather business case support information for capital project justifications.
- Select components and equipment based on reliability and specifications analysis.
Qualifications:
Minimum: A degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred: A degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology with 10 years of electrical experience.
