Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electric Propulsion Systems Engineer to join our innovative team. This role involves the design and development of advanced electrical components for cutting-edge propulsion systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and engineer the electrical architecture for state-of-the-art hall effect thrusters, including the Power Processing Unit, anode, and cathode systems.
2. Evaluate the performance and efficiency metrics of hall effect thrusters through rigorous analysis.
3. Plan and execute comprehensive electrical testing at both component and system levels.
4. Deliver high-quality components and thruster systems in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
5. Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, addressing design challenges and communicating technical decisions.
6. Oversee the complete spectrum of electrical engineering tasks, including PCB schematic design, board layout, component selection, and manufacturing considerations.
7. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers in the field of electric propulsion.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree with at least 7 years of experience, or
• PhD with 5 years of experience in spacecraft electrical propulsion system design.
• Proven experience with RF Plasma Thrusters and satellite propulsion systems.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in technical projects.
Preferred Skills:
• Hands-on experience in transitioning multiple propulsion systems from concept to operational status.
• Familiarity with various thruster technologies that inform future design innovations.
• Comprehensive understanding of the full lifecycle of space missions.
