Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and directing contractual aspects of interagency agreements and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) based contracting experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing industry cost and price analysis
  • Planning, managing, and directing contractual aspects of interagency agreements and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) based contracting experience
  • Identifying the sources of supply and services for an agency/organization
  • Analyzing and compiling report data
  • Providing advice on procurement Statutes, regulations, policies, market trends, market research of the industry, socioeconomic programs, and selection of the procurement
  • Analyzing procurement and contracting actions involving pre-award, post-award, negotiation, administration, termination and close out functions for complex, multidisciplinary, and multi-agency/office contracts
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have federal payments made by Direct Deposit
  • Must submit ALL required documents and a completed questionnaire
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Basic Education Requirements: A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management
  • Mandatory Required Training: The Department of Interior mandatory training requirements for the GS-13 grade level are based on Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting FAC-C (Professional) Program training curriculum
  • Specialized Experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service
