Position Overview

InGenesis is looking for an Information Systems Educator to collaborate with our client. In this capacity, you will conduct regular assessments of user processes, develop optimal practices, and instruct users on these practices to enhance overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a primary training resource.
  • Educate new personnel and providers on OCHIN EPIC EHR, Wisdom, and other relevant applications.
  • Ensure training materials are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Provide project management assistance for EPIC and other IS-related training initiatives.
  • Identify workflow gaps through regular observation of staff.
  • Develop best practice workflow documentation.
  • Collaborate with IS Leadership and Helpdesk to identify recurring training challenges and mitigate ticket volume through user training.
  • Create instructional materials for OCHIN EPIC and other application enhancements.
  • Work with departments to pinpoint deficiencies in data collection and train users to enhance KPIs and reporting metrics.
  • Support tier II and III application issues and mentor IS Helpdesk staff.
  • Assist in the ongoing development, implementation, and customization of the EMR.
  • Participate in testing new functionalities and software upgrades.
  • Provide support for any Go Live initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a flexible schedule and be available for overtime as needed.
  • Attend workgroups, workshops, training sessions, and meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting EPIC applications.
  • Familiarity with the EPIC Clarity database.
  • BS degree in business systems, computing, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in business systems.
  • OCHIN EPIC site specialist certification or equivalent within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience in training users on EPIC.
  • Experience with EPIC upgrades and the use of upgrade tools.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across various levels of expertise.
  • Strong understanding and experience with clinical workflows.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable to fast-paced environments, with a solid grasp of customer relations.
  • Highly organized and driven by tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training needs.
  • Strong understanding of CMS Meaningful Use, HRSA UDS Reporting, PCMH, and PQRS reporting is preferred.
Work Environment

Local travel may be required to visit other sites, which could include day or overnight trips for events; the workload may be demanding at times, necessitating professionalism and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements
  • Typical activities include sitting, walking, and standing in a standard medical/clinical office setting.
  • Regular bending, stretching, and lifting may be required.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary for standard office equipment and computer use.
  • Traveling to work sites may involve exposure to outdoor elements.
  • Presenting information to groups is part of the role.
  • Reading and writing skills are essential for reviewing records for accuracy.
