Position Summary:

NDi is in search of a Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) Image Engineer, possessing at least 5 years of experience in the creation, maintenance, and optimization of operating system images for deployment within a Federal IT enterprise. The selected engineer will oversee the development, customization, and rollout of standardized Windows operating system images throughout the organization. This role requires proficiency in MECM to guarantee effective and uniform delivery of operating systems, drivers, and applications to all endpoints.

Essential Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • This role operates in a hybrid model (remote/onsite) and necessitates onsite work at least once a week.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Microsoft Image Deployment Engineer or in a comparable position.
  • Hands-on expertise with deployment tools such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Active Directory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Strong understanding of Windows Imaging and Configuration Designer (ICD) and Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., App-V, Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve deployment-related challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with IT teams and end-users.
  • Microsoft Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate certification is advantageous.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and uphold MECM policies and configurations for software deployment, patch management, compliance, and security.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the MECM infrastructure, including site servers, distribution points, and management points.
  • Oversee the deployment, management, and troubleshooting of programs, applications, updates, and security patches across Windows desktops, laptops, and tablets.
  • Create, test, and deploy software packages, applications, and updates utilizing MECM.
  • Develop, test, and manage virtual application packages using App-V.
  • Ensure compatibility of virtual applications with the organization's IT environment.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to virtualized applications and resolve conflicts with other applications or system components.
  • Deploy virtualized applications to end-users through MECM or other deployment tools.
  • Implement and manage patch management processes to ensure all systems are current with the latest security patches and software updates.
  • Monitor MECM environment health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Manage software deployments, updates, and patches across endpoints, ensuring timely and consistent application of updates.
  • Configure and manage endpoint security features such as antivirus, encryption, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate MECM with other systems and tools, such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and third-party applications.
  • Provide guidance and support to IT staff and end-users on MECM functionality, best practices, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay informed about Microsoft technologies and best practices related to endpoint management and security.
