Role Summary:
We are looking for a proficient Systems Administrator with a focus on Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), previously known as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). The ideal candidate will oversee the architecture, deployment, management, and support of the MECM framework to facilitate effective endpoint administration throughout the organization. This position requires collaboration with IT departments to adopt best practices for software distribution, patch management, and compliance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- MECM Management:
- Design, implement, and sustain the MECM framework, ensuring peak performance and scalability.
- Oversee software distribution, patch management, and operating system deployment protocols.
- Create and manage application packages, task sequences, and deployments within MECM.
- Monitor and resolve issues related to MECM site servers, distribution points, and client health.
- Endpoint Oversight:
- Establish and manage device compliance policies while enforcing security configurations.
- Deploy and manage Windows updates, third-party updates, and application patches organization-wide.
- Administer endpoint security settings, including antivirus, firewalls, and encryption protocols.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of endpoints, including provisioning, monitoring, and decommissioning.
- Collaboration and Technical Support:
- Work in conjunction with IT teams to integrate MECM with other systems and tools, such as Active Directory, Azure AD, and Intune.
- Provide advanced support for MECM-related issues, including troubleshooting deployment failures and addressing client health concerns.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure endpoint compliance with organizational standards and industry regulations.
- Automation and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation tools to enhance MECM operations and efficiency.
- Generate and maintain reports on software deployments, patch compliance, and system inventory.
- Monitor and optimize MECM performance, proactively addressing any issues.
- Documentation and Best Practices:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for MECM processes, configurations, and best practices.
- Stay informed about the latest MECM features, updates, and industry best practices.
- Participate in the assessment and implementation of new tools and technologies relevant to endpoint management.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration, specifically with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
- Experience managing large-scale enterprise environments utilizing MECM.
- Strong proficiency with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud-based management tools such as Microsoft Intune is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Expertise in MECM administration, including software distribution, patch management, and OS deployment.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Certifications:
- Preferred Microsoft certifications related to MECM (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).
- ITIL certification is a plus.
