Position Overview

The Endpoint Security Specialist plays a crucial role within the cybersecurity operations team, engaging in a hands-on capacity that necessitates a comprehensive understanding of information security protocols and systems management. This position is vital for ensuring compliance and benchmarking of institutional endpoints while applying knowledge of applications, operating systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure.

The specialist will assess potential vulnerabilities within both legacy and current systems, recognizing that these weaknesses may be exploited by external threats. Responsibilities include identifying user assets, conducting vulnerability assessments, and collaborating with team members for remediation efforts. Continuous evaluation and adaptation to technological advancements are essential.

Collaboration and Reporting

Reporting to the Director of Cybersecurity Operations, the Endpoint Security Specialist will coordinate with various divisions and stakeholders on cybersecurity threats, risk management, and preventive strategies. Daily operations involve working closely with technical staff, including cyber risk analysts and project managers.

Position Requirements
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI, HIPAA, GLBA, NIST, or ISO
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell
  • Experience analyzing incident logs and understanding malware and vulnerabilities
  • Knowledge of operating systems and endpoint applications
  • Hands-on experience with Windows, Mac, Linux, and Unix systems
  • Familiarity with tools like Jamf, Intune, SCCM, and CIS Benchmarking
  • Understanding of adversary tactics and the MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Experience with SIEM and threat intelligence platforms


Experience
  • 3 to 5+ years in information security administration or security operations
  • Proficiency with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable/Nessus or Qualys
  • Experience in conducting organization-wide vulnerability assessments
  • Knowledge of BYOD and semi-managed endpoint environments


Preferred Experience

Experience with vulnerability management in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Work Mode: Telework. Work mode designations are subject to review to meet the evolving needs of the institution.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $54,000 and $100,493.33, determined by various factors including qualifications and experience.
