Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Environmental Services Associate is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of designated properties under the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council. This role involves monitoring cleaning supplies, restocking as necessary, and executing a variety of cleaning responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive floor care, including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and spot cleaning carpets throughout all office spaces. Additional tasks include dusting and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness across all areas of the Main Office and assigned facilities, which encompasses office spaces, hallways, restrooms, staircases, classrooms, and communal areas.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling practices are followed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of assigned locations to guarantee ongoing cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Carry out maintenance on carpets and hard floor surfaces, including cleaning windows at main entrances.
  • As needed, perform cleaning and sanitization following any outbreaks and familiarize oneself with the necessary equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and assist with procurement processes as directed.
  • Support housekeeping efforts at other locations when required.
  • Ensure all waste receptacles are equipped with covers and that doors are child-proof to comply with safety inspections.

Additional Duties:

  • Restock cleaning supplies as instructed.
  • Communicate with the Facility Manager regarding safety issues, hazards, and repair needs.
  • Assist with various cross-functional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with standard housekeeping methods and practices.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Effective communication skills with both administrative and center staff.
  • Capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Access to a personal vehicle for transportation purposes.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Submission of documented proof of a current physical examination, negative TB test, and MMR immunity is required. Hepatitis B immunity is recommended. An EEC Background Record Check will be necessary.
  • Must have a suitable CORI, SORI, and DCF background check on file prior to employment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities, to support the agency's mission of fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
