Job Title: Mental Health Skill-Building MHSS- QMHP-A

We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Professional to join our team at Restart Services. The successful candidate will provide excellent, quality, and impactful MHSS services within the Hampton Roads Area.

Job Summary:

The QMHP-A will provide direct mental health services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness who are seeking to improve their ADLs and independent and symptom management skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mental health skill-building services policies and procedures, excellent time management skills, and the ability to think critically and problem solve.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement recommendations given by the Department of Behavioral Health, Department of Human Services, and/or court systems.
  • Maintain regular contact with the Referral Source and/or other service providers that are involved with the care of the individual as the individuals progress status is being monitored by all providers.
  • Implement the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Provide a variety of interventions to assist the individual with meeting identified goals and objects.
  • Maintain documentation identified by DMAS, MCO, and agency specific requirements.
Work Environment:

The QMHP-A will spend the majority of the work week in the community with their client as activities are specifically designed to support the achievement of approved ISP goals. The QMHP-A will provide medication coordination, goal setting, linkage to services, advocacy, education, and evaluation. Community interactions will include the Department of Behavioral Health, Department Human Services, local community services boards (CSBs), courts, schools, child support enforcement, and other viable stakeholders/resources.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Services or related field (Social Work, Human Services Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Special Education, etc.).
  • Registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a QMHP-A.
  • A minimum of one (1) continuous year of demonstrated clinical full-time experience.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Skill-building Services policies and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Skills in providing community-based services and supports.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of development and implementation of individualized service plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers or other individuals as needed for services.
  • Principles of applying the standards of conduct.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve.
  • Able to be flexible.
