Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated full charge bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. This permanent role offers a chance to showcase your accounting expertise in a fast-paced and challenging environment. You will be responsible for overseeing and executing all tax-related functions of the firm. Key responsibilities include general accounting for clients, tax planning, preparation, compliance, advisory services, and conducting audits. Additionally, you will maintain tax records, manage tax payments, and resolve tax disputes. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and a commitment to staying informed about the latest tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit all federal, state, and local tax documents.
  • Manage general accounting tasks for clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Develop tax strategies to enhance the company's financial planning.
  • Conduct estimations, analyses, planning, and research to optimize tax obligations.
  • Maintain and manage the company's tax database.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations by providing necessary information to federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Assist during tax audits and negotiations with tax authorities.
  • Review complex tax returns and reports for accuracy.
  • Identify potential tax savings in acquisition scenarios and advise on tax implications.
  • Stay updated on current and forthcoming tax legislation and effectively communicate relevant changes to the team.
  • Consult with clients regarding tax preparation and potential liabilities.
  • Provide guidance to internal teams on tax-related matters.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax law, tax accounting, tax preparation, and tax planning.
  • Proficient in tax and accounting software.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, payroll taxes, sales tax, and tax compliance.
  • Strong understanding of tax credits, deductions, liabilities, and exemptions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex tax information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with robust analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and capability to manage complex tax disputes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax procedures, forms, penalties, and invoices.
  • Demonstrated success in managing tax payments, refunds, and maintaining accurate tax records.
